Morris & Ball have been involved with the RHS flower show at Tatton park since 2005. We have worked by ourselves and in conjunction with other designers to create medal-winning gardens.
We designed a garden representing Manchester United Football Club in 2010. Our design was chosen above many others submitted and we were awarded £10,000 by the RHS to build the garden at the Tatton Park flower show.
In 2008 we were awarded a bronze medal for our back to back garden, 'A modern space to bring a smile to your face'. The aim of this design was to create a cheerful garden using simple and hardy plants, providing a happy space to generate smiles. The garden was built on a relatively small budget using locally sourced plants.
In 2006 we designed and built a bronze medal-winning garden entitled 'The Office' which was featured on the BBC Gardener's World programme. The garden was designed to blend working life with outdoor living, to provide a calming space. The design incorporated plants at varying levels representing both the office workers and their managers, blending formal and informal shapes with bright splashes of colour. The chosen plants require little maintenance and provide year-round appeal.
Our first Tatton garden was built in conjunction with RHS medal-winning garden designer Clive Scott. The garden - 'Northern Soul' - was featured in the BBC North West Tonight Great Garden Give-Away competition.
